Ski holidays 2021 – what you need to know right now

Ski holidays 2021 – will they go ahead and should you be booking now? There’s light at the end of the ski tunnel at last…
Most of us missed our ski holiday last year, so 2021 really is the year for hitting the slopes – and there’s light at the end of the ski tunnel. With vaccines rolling out left, right and centre, and the UK lifting lockdown and reviewing international travel restrictions this spring, we’re optimistic about the 2021 and 2022 ski season.
Plus, ski holidays can actually be incredibly safe. Social distancing is easy on the slopes, and with a chalet holiday you can easily keep to your bubble, so don’t let the pandemic put you off getting your thrills in the snow this winter. We’ll continue to keep you up to date with ski news on our news page here, but for now, here’s everything you need to know in one place.
Ski holidays 2021
Should I book a ski holiday for 2021?

The short answer is: yes! We have already seen lots of enquiries and bookings for the 2021/22 ski season, so it’s a great idea to book ahead to make sure you don’t miss out. You’re also likely to get a better price – booking ahead means cheaper flights or ferry crossings if you are reaching us by car.
But do book with caution. Ensure you’ve got relevant insurance, ideally with Covid and cancellation cover, and swot up on your consumer rights if you’re booking your flights separately.
Will skiing happen in 2021?

Theoretically, yes. If the UK’s roadmap goes as expected with all social restrictions lifting on 21 June, and international travel resumes after the review on 12 April, ski resorts should be filling up after the first snow this winter.
Morzine and Les Gets have both announced their lifts will open for the summer season, which bodes well for the winter season. If you’re lucky enough to be one of the early recipients of a vaccine, there is a chance we could be seeing you in the mountains during late summer, too. All depending on border restrictions and quarantine rules, of course.
Ski holidays 2021 in France
Our beautiful chalets are located in Morzine and Les Gets – both exceptionally exciting resorts for a ski holiday in 2021. Compact and cosy, Les Gets has a small central village with plenty of sophisticated shops, upmarket bars and restaurants, and it makes for a lovely place to wander and while away some time when you’re not on the slopes. Les Gets has access to two sets of runs – the excellent black and red runs on Mont Chéry, and the slopes shared with neighbouring Morzine.
In Morzine, part of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area, you’ll find a lively apres scene and plenty of activities beyond the slopes. The runs are, of course, the highlight though, and there’s 600km of terrain to explore on your skis or snowboard.
Family ski holidays 2021
We specialise in family holidays, and both resorts are perfect for a family ski holiday in 2021. In Les Gets, kids will love the outdoor ice rink or riding on the oldest merry-go-round in France. There’s also the opportunity to visit Santa and his elves in the forest, too. Morzine – often voted one of the best family ski resorts in France – has tonnes of off-piste activity, from nature tours to snowmobiling, snowshoeing, tobogganing and even an escape room.
Our chalets were built for family time. Our catered chalets mean you don’t have to cook for everyone, too, and our expert chefs will create food your kids will love.
Best for group ski holidays 2021

After this challenging year, we all deserve to let loose a little and our huge chalets are the best place for it. We can help organise the perfect family and friends reunion for a much-deserved get-together. Hire Le Coin Perdu in Les Gets and you’ll get your own pool table, bar, poker table and hot tub.
At Urban Corniche, our self-catered chalet in Les Gets, you and up to nine other people can enjoy your own bar and even an indoor swing. The Old Macaroni is also perfect for a get-together. The lounge doors slide right back for views over the mountains and the weekly fireworks display during winter.
