Morzine & Les Gets ski area opening

Morzine & Les Gets
14 December 2024

The Morzine and Les Gets ski area is due to partially open on 14 December 2024 for a pre-opening week, depending on snow conditions. The Morzine ski area will open continuously from Saturday 21 December 2024 through to Sunday 6 April 2025. Depending on snowfall, the Morzine lift network may open on weekends before or after these dates to extend the season. All opening and closing dates are subject to change.

Spartan Race Winter Trail Morzine

ESF Torchlight Descent

ESF Morzine and Les Gets invite holidaymakers to join them for their traditional torchlight descent and fantastic fireworks display. Hundreds of instructors whizz down the slopes, creating a spectacular display for you to enjoy while sipping on a mug of mulled wine (or hot chocolate, for the kids!)

Carnival parade

Avoriaz
8 February to 2 March 2025
Every Thursday between 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

During February, the nearby village of Avoriaz comes alive every Thursday with the Carnival Parade. Come and see the parade of the giant floats and the mascots of the village. There are a number of activities for the kids including gourmet workshops, sled races, electric snowmobile initiations, treasure hunts and many other surprises.

Rock the Pistes music festival - Les Portes du Soleil

Can you imagine a more perfect setting for a festival than the slopes of the Portes du Soleil ski area? Well, each March, Rock the Pistes arrives in the area and offers exactly that! Holidaymakers are invited to use their snow boots as dancing shoes and enjoy incredible live music in a spectacular setting. Even better, the gigs are free, you just need to purchase a lift pass to reach the venue. The past line-up for Rock The Pistes has included Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Klaxons and Babyshambles.

Course des Champions - children's ski race in Morzine

This iconic ski race in Morzine brings together over 600 children from ski clubs, schools and holidaymakers too. The race takes place in the morning and is followed by a grand parade and a lively awards ceremony at the Morzine Tourist Office square. Paralympic vice-champion, Anthony Chalençon will be in attendance to present the awards.

Kingdom of the Marmots

With spring, comes the Kingdom of the Marmots (or Royaume des Marmots, as it’s known in French). Three days of kid-friendly fun, aimed at those aged from 18 months to 12-years-old. Throughout the town centre you’ll find a plethora of free activities from music shows to themed workshops, inflatable games and more!
