Where to travel in winter 2020 due to Covid

Where to travel in winter 2020 due to Covid - Morzine

You’re desperate to experience the ski slopes, but how safe will it be to travel in winter 2020/2021 due to Covid? We are based in the traditional villages of Morzine and Les Gets, France, and caught up with the Morzine-Avoriaz tourist board to find out.

Morzine and Les Gets are based in the Portes du Soleil, one of the world’s biggest ski areas. That means over 400 miles of marked pistes to explore and plenty of space in this outdoor natural playground. Safety is top priority for the upcoming 2020/2021 ski season due to Covid-19 and the summer season allowed the region to refine safety measures that will carry us into winter and evolve as needed. Strict hygiene measures will be in place, activities will be adapted but the wide-open spaces, sparkling pistes and fresh air are ready to enjoy as usual on your luxury ski holiday.

How are ski schools dealing with coronavirus?

There is currently no planned limit on the number of skiers during group lessons, but you will need to wear a mask at the beginning of the lesson, including children aged over 11 years old. You are also required to wear one in the booking office and any inside spaces. Hand sanitiser will be available and all surfaces will be regularly disinfected. Once you’ve booked, you can chat to our concierge about their ski school recommendations and we can book lessons for you.
